Elmira

We worked a ton with the less-active members in our ward this week. There is a lot of work to be done here, just like most wards. We had two groups of Catholic school students come and interview the Bishop for a World Religions research project. That makes three total that we have had this year; we are getting pretty good at answering all of their questions. The Bishop always finds a way to have us teach them the restoration and the plan of salvation. Then he gives them a Book of Mormon, the proclamation on families, the Living Christ, and the 13 articles of faith to help them with their research.
We went to Elmira this week, which is a Menonite horse and buggy type of town. They have a church just about every block, but they also have a very nice downtown sector similar to Walkerton's. We set up an appointment with one lady for next week. We try not to go to Elmira too often because it is pretty far away. We made sure to set up a lunch and dinner appointment. For lunch, we ate with the Hinches. They cooked probably the best steak I've ever had, marinated in a special maple syrup-based sauce like a true Canadian steak would be. The sauce is what made it so good. The members in Elmira(there's 3 or 4 families) are doing great as far as missionary work is concerned. The family we ate dinner with scheduled an appointment for us to teach a non-member family in their home next Sunday! I'm really excited for it.
That's the big news for the week. Kelly contacted us and tried to come to church, but she wasn't able to. We talked to Mazda at the door of our apartment building, so we will probably try teaching him again.
