Mazda

This week was pretty good. We found a new investigator named Mazda. He is the first new investigator we've had for the entire month. Mazda is a Muslim from Iran who is doing research for the University of Waterloo. He is very kind and wanted to learn more about Christianity. The Chinese elders referred us to him, and we taught him about Jospeh Smith. The idea of prophets living today was very intrigueing to him, because he is from a sect of Islam where they believe in 12 people after Muhammed that were pretty much mini-prophets, but not as good as Muhammed. We took him to Mormon.org so he can learn more between now and our next appointment.
We went on exchanges this week and I got to work with Chinese people again. It was just like the good old days back in London. We got to contact on the street and we didn't knock on a single door. It was so nice. We got 5 or 6 phone numbers almost effortlessly. It's a whole new world, right in the same city. I wish we could do street contacting in our area, but everyone is YSA or Chinese. Tracting has been going better, though. We tracted into a Chinese family and referred them to the Chinese elders. When I was on travels with Elder Lee, we dropped by and taught them a lesson. Sometimes, you pray really hard, and then you go to work, and you see success, but it's all for someone else. And that's ok. That day we also taught a Chinese student named Sam, who was baptized yesterday.
Sunday evening we had a cottage meeting, a social acitvity where people can invite their friends and discuss the Gospel in a non-threatening, group atmosphere. It was beautifully planned by the bishopric and it was all about temples. They even invited their neighbors and...they didn't come. But it was good practice.
